Entre los nombres posibles se buscaban símbolos.
Al principio surgieron sombras: Xibalbá, el inframundo maya donde las almas atravesaban pruebas.
Era un nombre poderoso, pero no pertenecía a la intención.
El Camino de Luz no habla del fin, sino del tránsito vivo entre memoria y energía.
El proceso creativo se convirtió en una búsqueda:
entender por qué crear un premio y qué debía representar.
Así nació el Premio K’inam —
una distinción pensada no como competencia, sino como reconocimiento al movimiento que une creación y comunidad.
Cada año, la pieza será diseñada por un artista distinto, invitado a traducir en materia su visión sobre esta fuerza vital.
En esta edición, Víctor Antonio Pimentel Becerril, artista de nuestra tierra, crea la estatuilla como ofrenda al equilibrio entre esfuerzo, fuego y memoria.

Every name carried a shadow, a story, a possibility.
At first, there was Xibalbá — the Mayan underworld, a place of trials.
Powerful, but not aligned with intention.
Camino de Luz speaks not of endings,
but of passage — of living energy moving through memory.
The creative process became a question of meaning:
Why create an award, and what should it represent?
That is how the K’inam Award emerged —
not as a contest, but as recognition of shared movement,
of creation as community.
Each year, a different artist will give form to this spirit.
For 2025, Víctor Antonio Pimentel Becerril has shaped the piece as an offering —
to balance, to effort, to light remembered in clay.
